The Minden-Tahoe Airport is a 990-acre general aviation non-towered airport located in the heart of the Carson Valley and minutes from Lake Tahoe. Built in 1942 as a military training base, Douglas County acquired the Airport and has operated it as a municipal airport governed by Douglas County Board of County Commissioners.  The Airport serves a broad base of aviation uses from corporate to recreational flying. It is home to approximately 250 aircraft with 80,000 annual operations. It is also home to the Sierra Front Dispatch Agency with primary mission of dispatching tankers to fires in the Sierra Nevada region.

 

NOISE COMPLAINTS

If you have noise complaint, low flying, or aircraft track complaint please call the airport manager at (775) 782-9871 or through email at kkallman@co.douglas.nv.us  You will need to provide a time, location, contact information, and what type of aircraft you believe it was. 

ACCESS WAIVER

In order to drive across the runways at MEV, you must take a test and be in possession of an Access Waiver.  Please call Airport Administration for instructions to do this on line (775-782-9871).
